Noosa Open Studios has become a much loved, annual celebration of art in the Noosa region. Over the course of 10 days, from August 30 to September 8, collectors will have the opportunity of visiting over 100 artists in their private studios.
Noosa Open Studios was the first exhibition I participated in when I moved to the Noosa region in 2016. I had very few expectations and was mildly shocked, and pleasantly surprised, by the throng of people who arrived at my door.
It turns out that my home is a wonderful place to exhibit my paintings as the view from the veranda complements the work that is displayed. It doesn’t take long for people to understand my influences as they watch the clouds drift by over the Noosa National Park and the Pacific Ocean behind it.
For this exhibition, I rely heavily on my husband Kaya, who seems to have endless enthusiasm for talking about my work (or any other topic that arises). I am also inspired by the wonderful nature of the collectors who visit, many of whom have returned year after year, to follow my progress as an artist.
This year, I am excited to be exhibiting more of the blue and ochre paintings that I featured back in 2017, as well as some interesting desert themed works from my more recent collections. I look forward to seeing you there.
